Duration: 3 Days| Price: £895 + VAT | Class Dates:

Students Will Learn:
  • Rendering Reports in Multiple Formats
  • Managing Security of Reports and Report Models
  • Automating the Creation and Delivery of Reports
  • Generating Reports
  • Creating Report Models
  • Customizing Reports

Description: This three-day hands-on course thoroughly covers Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services utility. It begins with an overview of the Reporting Services architecture, and then it walks students through creating reports of all types. This includes parameter reports, drill-through reports, matrix reports (pivot tables) and linked reports. It also covers how to create Report Models, which allow end users to create their own ad-hoc reports. The security model of Reporting Services is reviewed, as well as how to schedule the automatic generation and distribution of reports. Finally, writing code to fully customize reports and their generation is discussed.

Students who are also interested in other Business Intelligence Services including Integration Services (SSIS), Analysis Services (SSAS), and Notification Services along with Reporting Services should take the 5-day SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Application Development course instead of this course.

Prerequisites: Familiarity with database concepts and Windows desktop navigation. Attendance at HOTT's 3-day SQL Programming course, or equivalent knowledge, is helpful but not required.
