The Oracle Certified Professional, Java EE 5 Business Component Developer is appropriate for programmers who already have the Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer certification and who would like to demonstrate their ability to leverage Java EE technologies to develop server-side software components that contain the business logic of an application.

Before you can become an Oracle Certified Professional, Java EE 5 Business Component Developer you must pass the Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer exam as well as the following exam. The letter listed on the right hand side of the exam description refers to the HOTT course relevant for that exam.
Students unfamiliar with object oriented analysis and design concepts may also want to attend HOTT's 4-day Object Oriented Analysis & Design with UML class.

Our Java EE Web Application Development with Enterprise JavaBeans and Web Services course helps to prepare students for the Oracle Certified Professional, Java EE 5 Business Component Developer Certification. However, there is not time during the course to cover certain topics related to the exam. Students will therefore need substantial self-study in the areas of Interceptors, Timer Service and JPA in order to adequately prepare for this exam.
