The Sun Certified Business Component Developer (SCBCD) is appropriate for programmers who already have the Sun Certified Programmer certification and who would like to demonstrate their ability to leverage Java EE technologies to develop server-side software components that contain the business logic of an application.

Students Will Learn:

• Developing Servlets and JSPs
• JAX-WS Web Services
• EJB Security and Transaction Management
• How to Write Session, Message-Driven and Entity Beans

Before you can become a Sun Certified Business Component Developer you must pass the Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) exam as well as the following exam.The letter listed on the right hand side of the exam description refers to the HOTT course relevant for that exam.

Students unfamiliar with object oriented analysis and design concepts may also want to attend HOTT's 4-day Object Oriented Analysis & Design with UML class.

Our Java EE Web Application Development with Enterprise JavaBeans and Web Services course helps to prepare students for the Sun Certified Business Component Developer Certification. However, there is not time during the course to cover certain topics related to the exam. Students will therefore need substantial self-study in the areas of Interceptors, Timer Service and JPA in order to adequately prepare for this exam.
